No room to drop it? We climb it.
Most of the trees we take out cannot simply be felled. They are three feet off a roof, over a fence line, above a septic field, or tangled in a service drop. Those come down in sections, lowered on ropes, one piece at a time.
What does tree removal actually involve?
American Tree Care removes trees in Snohomish and King County, Washington. Where there is no room to fell a tree, a climber goes up on rope and takes it down in sections, lowering each piece rather than dropping it. Owner Ammon Harris quotes every job himself and you work with him throughout.
Price is set by height, lean, what sits underneath the tree, and how close equipment can get. The on-site estimate is free and the number we give you is the number you pay.
Most calls are one of these four.
It is over the house
Limbs on the roof, roots into the foundation, or a trunk that would land on the structure if it ever let go.
It is dying or hollow
Deadwood dropping, fungus at the base, a hollow trunk full of water. Often invisible until someone climbs it.
It is already leaning
Wind has pushed it, the root plate has lifted, or it is hung up in the tree next to it and nobody wants to be under it.
It is in the way
New shop, addition, driveway, fence line, or a lot that needs opening before anything else can start.
Three feet off the roof is the normal job here.
A tree with a house under it does not get felled. It gets climbed, rigged, and taken apart from the top down, with every section on a rope before the cut finishes. That is slower, and it is the only way the roof stays intact.
What actually happens on the day.
Set up and protect
Drop zone planned, beds and septic lids covered, vehicles moved. Nothing starts until this is done.
Climb and rig
A climber goes up on rope. Limbs come off, then the spar comes down in controlled sections.
Process on the ground
Brush to the chipper, trunk cut into rounds, rounds cut or hauled away to the level of cleanup we agreed on at the estimate.
Grind and finish
Stump ground below grade if you want it, chips blown off the hard surfaces, site raked out.
The rest of what we do.
Most removals get paired with at least one of these, and doing them on the same visit costs less than a second trip.
